Welcome to Troon Village
Peaceful, secluded, and home to the best mountain views in Scottsdale.
The further north you travel away from Scottsdale's city center, the more spectacular the scenery and lifestyle becomes. Upon reaching Troon Village and Troon North, one finds a perfect harmony of peace and seclusion, while remaining within arms reach of the modern conveniences and lifestyle of Scottsdale.
Residences and neighborhoods in both Troon communities are extremely varied. Homes include single-family homes, custom estates, patio homes, and townhomes. As for location, options include gated enclaves, golf course homes, lots amongst the rustic desert scrub, and hillside retreats. There's plenty of wow to satisfy even the most discerning buyer.
Regardless of where you opt to live, there's plenty of space. Troon Village encompasses 1,400 acres with Troon Mountain at its core and Troon Country Club, its social focal point. Troon North consists of 1,800 master-planned acres, including a 185-acre mountain preserve. Troon North Golf Club and its spectacular 36-hole golfing experience is a fixture on state and national best places to play lists.
What to Love
- Breathtaking, desert-mountain, city, and sunset views from throughout both communities
- Three of the Southwest's best golf courses within minutes of each other
- Incredibly diverse selection of homes, from low-maintenance patio homes to large custom estates
- Numerous opportunities for outdoor pursuits
People & Lifestyle
At one point a remote outpost, the Troon communities have grown into two of Scottsdale's most sought after addresses. In many ways they are similar to the upscale family enclave of Grayhawk, combining a vast selection of residences, small-town feel, and upscale living.
The primary difference is that Troon offers a bit more space and breathing room than its southwestern neighbor—an open, desert preserve to Grayhawk's park-like setting. That said, all three are spectacular places to live.
Both Troon communities appeal to those seeking seclusion in an unmatched locale, but those who appreciate refined luxury with a rustic edge will be particularly at home.
Dining, Shopping & Entertainment
While seclusion is the main draw, shopping and dining aren't far from your home in Troon or Troon North. The fabulous Spotted Donkey restaurant at El Pedregal is 15 minutes north of Troon.
To the south, near the boundary of Troon and Troon North, is the legendary Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale, which features the excellent dining establishments of Talavera, Saguaro Blossom, Proof Canteen, and the Onyx Bar and Lounge.
For those seeking an experience off the beaten path, head 15 miles north to the town of Cave Creek to take in a rodeo and excellent dining at Tonto Bar and Grill or Corrado's Cucina Italiana.
Things to Do
Troon and Troon North are synonymous with golf. The latter, with its two Tom Weiskopf-designed 18-hole championship layouts, is arguably the pinnacle of the Scottsdale golfing experience. It's not uncommon for a round at Troon North's Monument and Pinnacle courses to be at the top of every golfer's must-play list.
Not to be outdone, Troon Country Club offers an exquisite country club golfing experience. Perhaps not as revered as its cousin to the north, the challenging 18-hole layout (also designed by Tom Weiskopf) is its own rewarding experience. The course is perfectly conditioned and provides players beautiful views of the Sonoran Desert, Troon Mountain, and Pinnacle Peak.
The Troon clubhouse is home to a 9,000-square-foot fitness and wellness center, and the grounds feature tennis and pickleball courts and a lagoon pool.
Troon North includes a four-acre community park with tennis and basketball courts, a BBQ ramada, and turfed play area. Hiking trails are prevalent throughout both communities.
Schools
Troon Village and Troon North are home to a number of excellent schools in the Cave Creek Unified School District. Some of the most celebrated educational opportunities include:
- Desert Sun Academy, K-5
- Sonoran Trails Middle School, 6-8
- Cactus Shadow High School, 9-12
