Welcome to Arcadia
Old world charm in a hip, urban setting.
Located in the heart of the Phoenix-Scottsdale metro region, Arcadia is the perfect blend of old and new. The area began life as a rare bird, home to well-irrigated citrus groves that thrived in the early 20th century. As the land around Arcadia built-up, the small enclave held firm to its rural charm.
Split into three distinct sections—Arcadia Proper, Lower Arcadia, and Arcadia Lite—recent years have seen more modern developments flourish. Even so, many hint at the community's historical beginnings with nouveau farmhouse architecture, lush mature landscaping, and the occasional orange or lemon tree.
Perhaps the most distinct callback to its lineage, Arcadia features an impressive number of large-lot homes and grand estates. As a bonus to the already magnificent landscape, no matter where you stand in Arcadia, you're rewarded with a commanding view of Camelback Mountain, which stands sentry immediately north of the community.
What to Love
- Central location close to many Phoenix and Scottsdale hotspots

People & Lifestyle
Although plenty of homeowners come to Scottsdale seeking seclusion and privacy—abundantly found in the city's northern stretches—Arcadia is for those who love living in the heart of a city.
One of Arcadia's most desirable aspects is location. The community's eastern edge shares a border with Scottsdale's vaunted Waterfront and Downtown districts. Camelback Mountain is a mile and a half due north. In 15-20 minutes you can be at the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport or Downtown Phoenix.
Dining, Shopping & Entertainment
Given its central location, there is no shortage of dining and entertainment options in and around Arcadia. Within the community, there's high-end American dining at The Henry and the upscale steakhouse Steak 44.
Across the Arizona Canal on North Arcadia Street, you'll discover local favorites Arcadia Tavern and JT's Bar and Grill. To the city's north, there's the high-tone Mowry & Cotton at The Phoenician and T. Cook's at Royal Palms Resort & Spa.
The real prize to living in Arcadia is the proximity to Scottsdale’s celebrated dining and shopping scenes. Even from Arcadia's westernmost point, you're less than a 10-minute drive from Scottsdale's vibrant Downtown, Waterfront, and Entertainment districts. Highlights include the Scottsdale Fashion Square, eateries Olive & Ivy and Bourbon & Bones, and the Museum of the West.
Things to Do
While Arcadia is very much a residential area, its location makes it a coveted spot for a diverse set of homeowners—singles, families, empty nesters, and retirees. For each demographic, there is no shortage of things to do.
For golfers, The Phoenician Golf Club (immediately north) and Arizona Country Club (immediately south) offer pristine, challenging layouts. Mountain Shadows Resort and Paradise Valley Country Club are a few minutes farther and highlight the area's diverse golfing scene. The neighboring Arizona Biltmore Hotel and Golf Club and its 36-holes of championship golf is an experience in luxury at its finest.
If tennis is your game, there's the Camelback Village Racquet & Health Club and its 15 lighted courts, as well as a massive fitness area. Those seeking outdoor adventure will appreciate Arcadia's numerous bike paths and the immediacy of trails to the summit of Camelback Mountain.
And if you're a fan of classic or historical architecture, Arcadia is home to a Frank Lloyd Wright work of art—the spiral-shaped David and Gladys Wright House. Considered by many to be the famed architect's last true great residential masterpiece, the home foreshadowed his Guggenheim Museum design in New York City.
